Despite Nicolò Zaniolo’s limited playing time at Aston Villa, he has managed to garner attention from Serie A clubs.
The winger is currently on loan to the Villans from Galatasaray, but he will likely go back to his own club at the end of the current campaign. Several Italian teams are interested in signing him during the next transfer window, therefore he probably won’t remain.
According to TV Play, Lazio is one of those clubs that has shown an interest in the Aston Villa player.
After a disappointing run of limited playing time under Unai Emery, the Italy international “would like to return” to his home country in the hopes of reviving his career.
The former AS Roma player is allegedly a “great admirer” of Lazio chairman Claudio Lotito, who hopes to reunite with him in the summer to help kickstart his career. The Aston Villa player may find some equilibrium if he returned to Italy.
According to TV Play’s Zaniolo-affiliated sources, talks have already begun with Lazio, but any possible transfer will have to wait until the summer when he goes back to his Turkish club for a summer break.
The next Lazio manager, Igor Tudor, may “very willingly welcome” the attacker from Villanueva.
Napoli, AC Milan, Fiorentina, and the Biancocelesti are among the clubs interested in Zaniolo. On Sunday, he helped Aston Villa earn a point against West Ham United with his third goal of the season.
