Brighton are interested in signing Arsenal winger Reiss Nelson, but the club’s management position this summer will determine whether or not a trade is finalised, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Since Nelson has been underutilised recently, it is understandable that he is once again uncertain about his future at the Emirates Stadium. Last summer, there was talk of a potential transfer, but he ultimately signed a new deal with the Gunners.
While the Seagulls’ uncertainty regarding Roberto De Zerbi’s future as manager is currently the most important factor in this story, Romano told CaughtOffside in an exclusive interview for his Daily Briefing column that Brighton still like Nelson after displaying interest in the past.
The Italian tactician has been very successful at Brighton and could be in high demand this summer from clubs looking to hire new managers. We know that Liverpool, Barcelona, and Bayern Munich are all in the hunt, but if things don’t work out for those clubs in the last weeks of the season, Manchester United and Chelsea could be two to keep an eye on.
Even though Arsenal supporters will have mixed emotions about Nelson’s future with the club, it seems that Brighton is interested in signing him. Romano even said that, depending on De Zerbi’s situation, it may be a player to keep an eye on.
According to Romano, “Reiss Nelson is again being linked with a possible move away” after having a tough time getting game time at Arsenal this season.
Even before he opted to sign a new contract with Arsenal last summer, following discussions, Brighton coveted the player. But before we can make any decisions on top targets, we need to know what happens to Roberto De Zerbi. So, let’s see whether he leaves for another job and, if so, who takes his place.
