During the January transfer window, Tottenham acquired the services of Swedish sensation Lucas Bergvall.
The north London club paid about £8.5 million to secure the 18-year-old midfielder to a long-term agreement.
In order to give him the opportunity to keep growing as a player, the Premier League team decided to loan him back to Djurgarden for the rest of the season.
Once the season comes to a close, Bergvall will officially join his new team.
The Swedish midfielder is widely considered to be one of Europe’s brightest young stars. Over the last few weeks, his performances have been nothing short of remarkable. The 18-year-old scored a crucial goal in yesterday’s Svenska Cupen semi-finals, extending his team’s lead.
Djurgarden advanced to the championship game after winning the match on penalties. After this, Bergvall will want to lead them to a championship before he leaves in the summer.
