Ange Postecoglou, manager of Tottenham, has reportedly “gained a fan” of a promising young striker and is expressing optimism that Spurs might make a bid for him.
This summer, Lange intends to bring in a new forward for Spurs.
The January transfer window was particularly fruitful for the club’s technical director Johan Lange.
On transfer deadline day, the Dane astoundingly outsmarted Barcelona to acquire highly-rated teenage wonder Lucas Bergvall. Bergvall will now spend the summer on loan with Djurgardens IF before formally joining Spurs. Furthermore, Lange finalized contracts for the superbly adapted Timo Werner (on loan from RB Leipzig) and the adept defensive backup Radu Dragusin (from Genoa) for £25 million.

This weekend’s match against Fulham will put the latter’s talent to the test, as Postecoglou said on Wednesday that defender Micky van de Ven would not be in the lineup.
Reports indicate that Postecoglou informed Sky Sports (via Standard Sport) that they are still in the process of gathering all the necessary information. We don’t believe it’s a big deal, but he probably won’t be able to play this weekend. Due to the lack of information we will likely get until later in the week, [he] is not expected to play for Fulham. Hopefully, however, he won’t miss much action after the international break.
Although Dragusin is yet to make his first full-game start, Lange certainly made good use of the January transfer window. Supposedly, this summer, Spurs and Lange will be looking to add a winger to their roster.
Spurs reportedly aim to add another wide forward as a marquee signing in the next window, despite having excellent names like Brennan Johnson, Son Heung-min, Dejan Kulusevski, and Timo Werner in the wide areas.
As reported by GiveMeSport, who also provide an update on the speculated transfer target Nico Williams, this presumably does not include signing Werner to a permanent agreement for the next season.
Nico Williams, who has been “given confidence” by Tottenham, is willing to join
Based on his achievements this season, the Athletic Bilbao winger has “gained a fan” in Postecoglou. According to GMS, Tottenham have been informed that Williams may be willing to leave this summer.
The north Londoners are reportedly interested in signing Williams because of the £43 million release clause in his contract. Williams has scored three goals and assisted on seven more in La Liga this season.
He also fits nicely with Tottenham’s transfer strategy of acquiring Europe’s top players, given he is still just 21 years old.
Regarding his brother Nico, Inaki Williams said, “I’m not surprised by what my brother does because I’m used to seeing him practically every day, I know his capabilities.”
Great player; he’s in fantastic form, and Spain stands to gain a lot from him. I am happy for him because he demonstrated it by allowing Morata a fantastic pass.
