Everyone can see that Ange Postecoglou will need assistance in bolstering Tottenham Hotspur’s roster this summer.
Similar to their performance against Arsenal earlier in the season, Fulham entirely stymied Spurs’ progress, leaving Postecoglou to salvage an underwhelming effort.
It was already disappointing, but coming off a 4-0 victory at Villa Park just made things worse.
Fulham, who cared nothing about Spurs’ or their teams’ standings in the league, pounded them.
Maybe Fulham’s two best performers that night were Rodrigo Muniz and Joao Palhinha.
Although Postecoglou is likely to be pleased to have any of them join Tottenham this summer, writer Alasdair Gold has Muniz tagged as a potential arrival.
In his post-loss piece for football.london, Gold identified three attackers that Spurs may need to step up their game in the next season.
The writer speculated that a transfer for Muniz was feasible, along with Ivan Toney of Brentford and Santiago Giminez of Feyenoord.
Since CAA Base has a significant presence at Spurs and represents James Maddison and Son Heung-Min, Alasdair Gold believes that Tottenham might seek Fulham striker Rodrigo Muniz this summer.
With his contract coming to an end and his price tag falling, he went on to say that many teams would be interested in signing Ivan Toney.
With 21 goals in 24 Eredivisie matches and two assists in four Champions League matches this season, Feyenoord’s Mexico international striker Santiago Giminez is attracting interest from many Premier League clubs.
One player that Spurs may consider is 22-year-old Muniz of Fulham. He has scored seven goals in his last seven Premier League appearances, seemingly out of nowhere following a dismal loan with Middlesbrough.
Despite getting only 18 touches in the match against Tottenham, the Brazilian scored twice.
“The CAA Stellar stable has done a lot of business with the north London club in recent years, and Muniz is represented by CAA Base, who also have a strong and deep presence at Spurs.”
Although the Brazilian Muniz has had a rough go of it before this run at Fulham, there is now enough reason to think he may be successful this time around.
The 22-year-old now seems to be delivering on all of his promises after joining Fulham for £7 million in 2021.
Anyone curious in what happened before the seven goals in seven games should be careful, but the remainder of the season should provide a solid sample size.
Although Fulham is unlikely to be in a hurry to sell, Tottenham may be interested in signing Muniz this summer.
